USB Devices Malfunctioning
Problem:
Your USB devices are not working correctly.
Probable Cause:
You may be experiencing configuration problems due to timing issues involving Windows, USB, and Connection Expert.
You may be experiencing Plug and Play problems that are masked by Connection Expert.
Suggested Steps:
- Turn off the instrument and unplug the USB cable from the computer. Wait several seconds. The USB instrument will be removed from the Connection Expert Instruments view.
- Close the Connection Expert application.
- Turn the instrument back on, and then plug the USB cable back into your computer. When you do this, Windows error messages may be displayed in the lower right corner of your screen: observe these messages, if any, and act as directed.
- Run Connection Expert. Verify that the USB device appears in the Instruments view.
More Information:
It can happen that Windows Plug and Play errors, which would normally be displayed in a "bubble" in the Windows notification area, are not displayed because the Connection Expert is running. In this situation, closing Connection Expert and then plugging the USB device in when Connection Expert is not running will cause the "bubble" and error message to be displayed.
