Remote Instrument/Interface Search Criteria
This section contains information that applies to Windows and Linux, not Windows on ARM.
When searching for remote interfaces, Keysight software looks for instruments having the following elements in their remote instrument name or SICL interface ID:
- GPIB instruments/interfaces:
gpib0,
gpib1, gpib2, gpib3, hpib, hpib7, hpib8
- Serial instruments/interfaces:
COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4
- VXI instruments/interfaces:
vxi0,
vxi1, vxi2, vxi3, vxi
- USB instruments/interfaces: usb0, usb1, usb2, usb3
Notes:
- The default search range is limited to commonly used values for performance reasons. Additional IDs can be manually added.
- Serial and USB remote
instruments are only supported with the SICL-LAN protocol.
- The hpib, hpib7, hpib8, and vxi prefixes are only supported with the SICL-LAN protocol.
