Keysight Distributed Infrastructure (KDI)
Keysight Distributed Infrastructure (KDI) is a powerful networking solution for tracking and monitoring devices and enabling secure communication across distributed environments. It is a scalable end-to-end connectivity control plane enabling security and management across all stages of software architecture.
With KDI, you can establish a fabric of interconnected nodes, each equipped with a KDI Controller (KDIC), all connected to a central server termed KDI Root. The KDI Root enables secure communication within the KDI Fabric through Hydra (default authentication provider) and supports flexible integration with alternative providers.
KDI authorization extends its reach to include existing customer security frameworks and external users verified by trusted third-party authentication providers, offering a single sign-on experience. This authorization facilitates fine-grained capabilities through OpenFGA, which relies on Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC).
KDI Gateway (KDIG) hosted on Keysight Pathwave Cloud broadens the scope and accessibility of a fabric. It facilitates communication with multiple KDI Fabrics and is essential for accessing Keysight cloud services that rely on KDIG to communicate with your fabric.
Why KDI?
KDI makes it easier to build up a local network of devices by enabling secure connections and discoverability. Solution providers can focus on solution-specific functionality without worrying about the complexities of authorization and secure communication. By leveraging KDI, you can build and deploy complex or distributed solutions utilizing this network of interconnected devices, known as the KDI Fabric.
-
KDI acts as a control plane, facilitating secure connections within the KDI Fabric.
-
KDI enables secure connections by authenticating and authorizing communication between nodes within the fabric.
-
Facilitates remote control of KDI-managed applications within the KDI Fabric.
-
Fabric Management Tool:
KDI comes with a user-friendly interface, KDI Management UI for effortless management of local credentials, federated identities, and a comprehensive view of the KDI Fabric members and their applications.
With KDI Management UI,-
Manage KDI local and remote users.
-
Effortlessly manage devices connected within the KDI Fabric. New devices can be easily added to the fabric, making them discoverable and enabling secure connections by authorized applications, both within and outside the fabric, provided they possess valid credentials.
-
Get insight into fabric details including comprehensive node information for each device connected within the fabric.
