Using the Keysight IO Libraries Suite with Other Vendors' Hardware

In general, the Keysight IO Libraries Suite works with devices from all vendors, if those devices are connected through supported interfaces. In some cases, the information displayed in Connection Expert may be incomplete; for example, some instruments may not return their serial numbers or firmware revisions in the format expected by Connection Expert.

In general, to use another vendor's interface, you must install that vendor's driver and may need to use that vendor's configuration tools to configure the interface.

The Keysight IO Libraries Suite supports NI GPIB cards that interface to the PC via National Instruments' NI-488.2 software (version 1.5 or later). You can use any of the Keysight IO Libraries (VISA, VISA.NET, VISA COM, SICL, and Keysight 488) to program devices on an NI GPIB interface.
