Programming via GPIB and VXI
This section contains information that applies to both Windows and Linux.
Windows Users
VISA supports three interfaces you can use to access GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) and VXI (VME eXtension for Instrumentation) instruments: GPIB, VXI, and GPIB-VXI. The topics in this Help book describe how to program GPIB and VXI devices via the GPIB, VXI or GPIB-VXI interfaces.
See Programming with VISA for general information on VISA programming for the GPIB, VXI, and GPIB-VXI interfaces.
Linux Users
The Linux product offers VISA support for accessing GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) instruments. The sections of the GPIB and VXI Interfaces Overview on GPIB are flagged to help you quickly locate Linux-relevant information.
