LO Output Amplitude (Option AYZ) Adjustment

This adjustment applies only to analyzers equipped with external mixing (Option AYZ)

The goal of this adjustment is to set the 1st LO Output power to at least +14.0 dBm. To perform the adjustment the PSA is placed in external mixing mode using a harmonic number of -10. The PSA frequency offset is set to 321.4 MHz so that the PSA center frequency will be exactly 10 times the 1st LO frequency. The PSA center frequency is tuned from 30 GHz to 69 GHz (67 GHz for E4446A/47A/48A), thus tuning the LO from 3.0 GHz to 6.9 GHz (6.7 GHz for E4446A/47A/48A). A power sensor is connected to the 1st LO OUT on the PSA and the LO is swept across the tuning range until the LO frequency with the lowest power is found. Next, the PSA is tuned to the center frequency with the lowest 1st LO power and the internal ALC is adjusted until the LO power is at least +14.0 dBm.

This adjustment saves an output file which lists the corrections that were stored in the instrument. The output file is saved at this location:
