Residual responses are discrete responses that appear on the analyzer display with no signal applied to the analyzer. They are created within the analyzer by the frequency synthesis and frequency conversion processes, by imperfect shielding of internal signals, and by other unknown mechanisms.
The analyzer input is terminated and known residual frequencies are
measured. The result is compared to specification.
Option 1DS and Option 110 are tested if the PSA is outfitted with the option.
