Effective DANL Adjustment

This adjustment applies to the following models with Option NFE:

This adjustment determines the noise figure of the analyzer down conversion chain and generates several corrections which are stored in memory. The corrections are used to predict the noise that is present at the analyzer input connector.

Option NF2 generates the adjustment data with an internal alignment that is a manual noise floor characterization. To do this, press System > More > Advanced > Characterize Noise Floor.

Seven Band/Path combinations are characterized in this adjustment:

  1. Lowband Path, Preamp Off

  2. Lowband Path, Preamp On

  3. Highband Path (Bands 1 – 6), Preselector On, Preamp Off

  4. Highband Path (Bands 1 – 6), Preselector On, Preamp On

  5. Highband Path (Bands 1 – 6), Preselector Off, Preamp Off

  6. Highband Path (Bands 1 – 6), Preselector Off, Preamp On

  7. Highband Path (Bands 1 – 6), Preselector On, Low Noise Path

This adjustment should be performed if the analyzer fails the Effective DANL test or if any component in the RF downconversion chain is changed. This adjustment does rely on the Frequency Response corrections, so this adjustment should be performed after the Frequency Response adjustment.
