Gain Compression Troubleshooting

The Gain Compression Test is a two-tone test. The Gain CompressionTest along with the TOI Test are the most complex test setups. It is very easy to make an error in the test connections. The most common error is placing the couplers in the wrong direction. The couplers are used as signal combiners so the signal flow is reversed.

Gain Compression and TOI are both two-signal measurements. Gain Compression is a large signal two-tone test. TOI is a small signal two-tone test. If the Gain Compression Test fails, then TOI will most likely fail as TOI is a much more sensitive measurement. Please refer to the TOI troubleshooting.
