ALC Mod Bias DAC Sensitivity Calibration

(E8267D Only)

This adjustment calibrates the sensitivity in DAC counts/dB of power change with regard to the ALC.

The calibration is performed in both highband and lowband with a DAC value being stored for each band. The signal generator power is set +5 dB above the attenuator trip point, the ALC loop is then opened up and a power search routine is executed. The signal generators output power is monitored with a power meter while the DAC is changed until a difference of 5 dB has been achieved. The difference between the initial DAC value and the final DAC value divided by the power delta (+5 dB) are stored in the module.

In Case of Difficulty

If this adjustment fails, perform the following steps in order:

  1. Check the equipment setup (see above). If the setup is incorrect, make the necessary corrections and rerun the adjustment.

  2. If this adjustment fails with the equipment set up properly, refer to the troubleshooting section of the signal generator's service guide. If you do not have a printed copy of the service guide (Option OBW), one is available either on the CD-ROM that came with your signal generator shipment or on the Keysight Website.

  3. If you cannot correct the problem using the troubleshooting procedures in the Service Guide, obtain service from Keysight Technologies. Refer to Contacting Keysight Technologies.
