The goal of this calibration is to determine the optimal synthesizer pretune DAC setting for a fine-step frequency index. This data is used by firmware to control pretune of the synthesizer system and minimize switching transient time due to loop slewing.
First, a coarse adjustment is performed using the synthesizer loop under/over indicators to determine the vicinity of the optimal loop control DAC setting. A fine adjustment is then performed to achieve the desired frequency.
No additional equipment required.
