The Input VSWR and Input VSWR High Band tests measure the worst case VSWR over each of the specified frequency bands given below. The tests measure VSWR directly from the network analyzer. However, the conversion below can be used if measuring return loss.
The Input VSWR High Band test is used to test the higher frequency ranges of the N8974/5A models. It is not available for the N8972/3A models.
VSWR or voltage standing wave ratio can be calculated from the reflection coefficient using the equation:
VSWR = [1 + rho] / [1 - rho] @ VSWR = [1 + r ] / [1 - r ]
|
The NFA uses several frequency dependent paths within the front end assemblies to cover its operating range. It is therefore not possible to complete a single VSWR swept measurement at a single fixed frequency point over its entire operating range, as the NFA automatically switches at approximately 500 MHz and 3000 MHz, dependent on the fixed frequency setting. |
