Displayed Average Noise Level Test

This test applies to the following models:

The purpose of Displayed Average Noise Level (DANL) test is to test the average of the displayed noise. To measure the average of the DANL, the analyzer's input is terminated with a 50 ohm load. The analyzer is placed in 1 kHz span, and the trace data is averaged by summing all 1000 trace points and dividing by 1000. The result is then normalized to 1 Hz RBW by subtracting out the value of 10 x LOG(RBW).

If the DUT has the preamp Option 235, additional testing is performed with the preamp on. All tests are performed in DC-Coupled mode. The test is performed at predetermined frequencies and in 1 kHz span. This avoids measuring residuals.
