System Dynamic Range Test

(N9923A)

The purpose of this test is to measure the difference between the max source output power level and the receiver noise floor.

This test performs a two-port isolation calibration which sets the reference power to the power output level of each port (0 dB = the power output level at the port). Loads are then connected to each port. The S21 and S12 measurements then represent the difference between the port output power and the noise floor for a given measurement. Averaging is used to remove random noise.

  • S12 is only measured if Option 122 is installed on the analyzer.

  • The final step of the test takes up to eight minutes. There will be no prompts or status changes during that time.
