MMI Unique Identifier and Cal ID

Because the PXIe signal analyzer is calibrated as a multi-module instrument, its serial number is referred to in TME as an MMI Unique Identifier (MMI = Multi-Module Instrument). The MMI Unique Identifier consists of a string of ten alpha-numeric characters that is unique to the instrument. It is a hash code derived from the model and serial number of each individual module within the PXIe signal analyzer instrument. (The M9300A frequency reference module is not included in the MMI Unique Identifier.)

TME uses the MMI ID (Cal ID) as the serial number. The TME user interface will show the MMI ID as the serial number for the PXIe signal analyzer being tested.

Although the samples shown below are for a PXIe signal generator, the information also applies to the PXIe signal analyzer.

In the SFP (Soft Front Panel) of the PXIe signal analyzer, the MMI Unique Identifier is also the first string in the Cal ID field. The Cal ID can be found in several places of the PXIe signal analyzer:
