Boost (802.16 OFDMA)
Boost is the ratio of the RMS/subcarrier power level of the active preamble subcarriers compared to the RMS/subcarrier power level of the active data subcarriers in the analysis zone. An ideal signal in a non-STC Space Time Coding (STC) allows the transmitter to transmit signals (information) both in time and space, meaning the information is transmitted by two antennas at two different times consecutively. zone should have a PreambleBoost value of about +9.03 dB. Variation from this ideal indicates a possible problem in the transmitted preamble power level relative to the transmitted data power level.
