Chip Rate (cdma2000/1xEV-DV)

Default: 1.2288 Mcps Mega Chip Per Second: A measure of the number of bits (chips) per second in the spreading sequence of direct sequence spreading code. (See cdma2000/1xEV-DV Standard Setups/Presets Table.)

Range: Minimum span to (10 x maximum span)

Chip Rate specifies the Chip Rate for the VSA's demodulator. The Chip Rate is equivalent to the spreading rate of the channel, 1.2288 Mcps for spreading rate 1 (SR1). This parameter can be used to enter nonstandard chip rates for test and analysis purposes.

To demodulate a signal, the chip rate must match the chip rate of your system.

The chip rate determines the symbol rate for each Walsh Code Length per the following equation (see Chip Rate, Symbol Rate and Walsh Code Table):

Symbol Rate = Chip Rate/Walsh Code Length

The chip rate also limits the Resolution Bandwidth (see Resolution Bandwidth)
