About Channel Sounding

The Channel Sounding extension (89601CSDC) for the 89600 VSA software adds the ability to measure a channel (whether a device connected by cabling or an over-the-air channel) by sending a known signal into the channel and then measuring the signal after it passes through the channel.

The signal to be inserted into the channel is generated by the N7608 Signal Studio for Custom Modulation software.

The estimate of a channel response can be improved by coherent (vector) averaging of channel response without the need for triggering.
