Pilot Lvl (Digital Demod)

Pilot Lvl is reported for the VSB demodulation format. The result is in dB. A number greater than zero indicates a pilot with an amplitude that is larger than nominal.

The value shown on the Syms/Errs table is 0dB for a signal with exactly the correct pilot level, as defined for the VSB signal definition (from the ATSC Digital Television Standard). When Pilot Lvl is greater than 0dB, the pilot level is larger than expected based on the measured data power level. When Pilot Lvl is less than 0dB, the pilot level is less than expected based on the measured data power level.

Freq Err is computed using all points (including points between symbols).

The VSB demodulator removes the pilot from IQ measured signal.
