Half-Sine shaping (for OQPSK) (Digital Demod)

Menu Path: MeasSetup > Digital Demod Properties > Filter tab

Default: cleared

Half-Sine shaping (for OQPSK) defines whether a user-defined reference filter is similar to a Half-Sine filter.

The Half-Sine shaping (for OQPSK) is only available when the Offset QPSK is selected in the Format parameter on the Format tab of the Digital Demod Properties dialog box.

When Half-Sine shaping (for OQPSK) is selected, the OQPSK Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying: A type of QPSK modulation that offsets the bit streams on the I and Q channels by a half bit. This reduces amplitude fluctuations and helps improve spectral efficiency. demod algorithms assume that the user-defined filter is similar to a Half-Sine filter. This parameter is used for OQPSK signals with constant amplitudes.
