FSK Error Spec (Digital Demod)
(Available only when the digital-demodulation format is
or )When FSK Frequency Shift Keying: A form of modulation using multiple carrier frequencies to carry the digital information. The most common is the two frequency FSK system using the two frequencies to carry the binary ones and zeros. Error Spectrum) is selected, the VSA displays the spectrum of . In other words, the VSA derives the trace and then windows and FFTs this trace to produce the trace.
(By default, normalization is ON and the deviation units are displayed as a percentage. To see the actual frequency deviation in units of Hz, turn normalization OFF. For further details, see Normalize IQ Traces.
Additional Tips
Here's some additional information:
- The Result length determines the number of symbols in the trace. The Points / Symbol determines the number of points between symbols.
- The VSA compares all points in the FSK measured and FSK reference signals. To compare only those points at the symbol times, set to one (1).
- The band-power markers compute the error over all points in the trace. Again, to compute the error only at the symbol times, set to one (1).
