Excluded/Unused/Guard Band Config (DOCSIS 4.0 Upstream)
contains a group of parameters to automatically or manually specify the start and length (in subcarriers) of any bands of inactive subcarriers including upper and lower guard bands and any exclusion bands.
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
When selected, inactive subcarriers are automatically detected based on the relative power threshold specified in the Use Sub. Det. Threshold setting. Default: enabled |
|
Auto Detect Enabled | |
specifies the power threshold for automatic detection of inactive subcarriers. In auto-detect mode, a subcarrier with power below the Sub. Det. Threshold is considered “inactive” and a subcarrier with power above this is considered “active.” Default: -20dB In auto-detect mode, the software has no way to determine if a subcarrier with no power is “unused” or “guard band” – it’s just a subcarrier with no power. The software will consider all subcarriers at a frequency below the first (lowest frequency) detected active subcarrier as “guard band” subcarriers. Similarly, all subcarriers at a frequency above the last (highest frequency) active subcarrier will be considered “guard band” subcarriers. Any inactive subcarriers between the first and last active subcarriers will be considered exclusion band subcarriers. You can disable Auto Detect to manually enter guard and exclusion bands if you wish to differentiate these at a finer granularity. Minislot 0 will start with the first active subcarrier detected. |

Auto Detect Disabled | |
sets the starting subcarrier for the selected exclusion band. Default: Exc0 = 0, Exc1 = 1974 |
|
sets the length of the subcarrier for the selected exclusion band. Default: Exc0 = 74, Exc1 = 74 |

Opens the Docsis Upstream Exclude Editor. Use this editor to create a custom list of exclusion bands.
