Z Position (Markers)

The Z Position parameter is applicable only for markers on traces that contain Z-axis information such as the OFDM Error Vector Spectrum and OFDM Error Vector Time trace data in the 802.16 OFDMA demodulator. These traces use 3-dimensional data; that is, the data results include x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis components.

For example, an Error Vector Spectrum trace can have the following axis units:

The following screenshot is from the LTE demodulator. At each X-axis location, there is a vertical line that contains many Z-axis points. The vertical location of the Z-axis point indicates the Y-axis magnitude of the point.

The white line is the 2D Average Line, which shows the average of all values on the Z-axis at each X-axis location. The 2D Average Line is linearly interpolated between X-axis points.

Z Position

Z Position specifies the current z-axis marker position. The marker can be moved to another location by entering a new value in the Z Position text box.

For trace data without a z-axis component, the Z Position parameter is unavailable.

Marker Readouts

The marker readouts in the Markers Window reflect the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis measurement results for the selected marker position. Selecting (clicking) the marker's Z-position changes the marker's Z-position.
