Source Error Messages
Downloading data to the source may result in these error messages.
- There was insufficient
arb source memory to complete the download. Data was truncated.
The amount of arb source data that can be downloaded to the source depends on how much memory the source has and if it has other, protected arbitrary data in memory. If the remaining memory is insufficient to hold the downloaded arb data, the software will download as much as possible and truncate the rest. To download more of a waveform, use minimum memory mode. Also, newer sources allow you to view the arb data memory (as if it were a directory) and to eliminate files of arb data. Cleaning out unwanted files allows bigger downloads. - Arb source is unfiltered.
The sample rate of the arb source data precludes using the widest reconstruction filter in the source, or the spectrum would be truncated. Therefore, no filter is used. In this case there is no difference between maximum fidelity and minimum memory when downloading. Some sources allow you to add an external analog filter. - Arb waveform bandwidth
was reduced due to the maximum arb source sample rate.
You attempted to download arb source data whose sample rate exceeds the maximum sample rate available in the source that is being used to play it back. If the data sample rate is less than twice the maximum source sample rate, the data is filtered and resampled to the maximum source sample rate. This eliminates some of the spectrum, but the rest plays back accurately. (Resampling is done during download; the original data is left as it was.) - Arb waveform requires
unsupported arb source sample rate.
You attempted to download arb source data whose sample rate exceeds twice the maximum sample rate available in the source that is being used to play it back. The download is aborted, and this error is displayed.
