Record Tab (Recording)

The Record tab sets the length of a recording.

Recording Length: sets the requested recording length for next time a recording is performed.

The recording length can be set in points, records, segments, or seconds. The length of a record is the time (amount of points) needed to accumulate one average at the current measurement setup. To playback a recording, the recording must contain at least 1 record.

The actual recording length that will be captured (when a recording is performed) is shown to the right of the Recording Length text box in units of seconds. This value takes into account the maximum supported recording length for the current hardware and may be smaller than the Recording Length requested..

Max Length check box: The size of sample memory (sometimes called capture RAM) in the hardware determines the maximum length that can be recording. Recordings are 50 records by default. Selecting the Max Length check box sets the recording length to the largest possible value.

Extra to settle check box: If selected, the VSA takes extra data before the trigger point to account for measurement processing.
