Position Tab (Markers)

tab of the dialog box sets visibility, configure marker type, and position the marker on a trace.- Managing Markers for more information. : At the top of the tab are controls for selecting, adding, and removing markers. A marker is uniquely specified by a trace and a marker number. See

: Select the check box to make the marker visible on the selected trace; clear the check box to remove the marker from the trace. When the marker is enabled, the following parameters can be set for the marker:
- Marker Type dropdown box: Specifies the type of marker as , , or .
- Marker Reference dropdown box: The dropdown box next to the marker type specifies the reference marker for a delta marker.
- X Position / ∆ X Position: Shows the x-axis component of the marker location.
- Peak Track: Places the marker at the peak magnitude in the trace.
- Couple Markers: Couple the current marker number on all traces.
- Y Position: Shows the y-axis component of the marker location. This parameter is only editable when the marker type is .
- Z Position: Shows the z-axis component of the marker location. This parameter is only editable when the current trace contains Z-axis data.
- Trace Time: Specifies the elapsed time from the beginning of the measurement to the current scan (for spectrogram traces).
- Zero Delta: Moves the reference marker to the location of the active delta marker.
- Polar Format: Choose between Real and Imaginary or Magnitude and Phase. This setting is only applicable when the trace format is or .
- Consolidate when Code Order is Hadamard: Places triangle-shaped markers on all related code channels.
- Peak Search
: Specifies settings common to all markers in the active trace.
A marker can be placed on part of a trace that is outside of the current trace scale boundaries. In this case, the VSA will show an arrow at the edge of the trace grid pointing to the marker and a number next to the arrow to indicate the marker number.
