Symbol Table Bit Order (Digital Demod)

Default: Auto

Range: Auto, MSB Most significant bit. In a binary coding scheme, the bit having the greatest numerical value. Analogous to the left-most numeric position in a decimal number.-first, LSB Least Significant Bit: In a binary coding scheme, the bit having the least numerical value. Analogous to the units position in a decimal number.-first

Symbol Table Bit Order sets how symbol table bits are converted to their equivalent hexadecimal representation.

When symbol table data is displayed in hexadecimal form, each set of four bits in the binary data is converted to a hexadecimal digit. Symbol Table Bit Order determines whether the first digit encountered is interpreted as the least significant bit or the most significant bit.

MSB-first: The first digit in a binary stream is interpreted as the most significant bit in a hexadecimal digit.

LSB-first: The first digit in a binary stream is interpreted as the least significant bit in a hexadecimal digit.

Auto: The currently selected demodulator determines the setting of this parameter. In most cases, the default is MSB-first. To determine the default Symbol Table Bit Order setting for a symbol table trace in a particular demod, view the symbol table trace data in that particular demod. The default is MSB-first unless otherwise noted.
