Copying Markers to Set Parameters
The selection quickly sets certain measurement parameters from a marker value. If the marker value is outside the valid range for a parameter, the VSA uses the closest valid setting.
- sets the measurement start frequency to the marker frequency.
- sets the measurement stop frequency to the marker frequency.
- sets the measurement center frequency to the marker frequency.
- sets the measurement frequency span to the marker-offset value (the difference between the marker and the offset marker.
- copies the marker and the offset marker's X position to the X-Scale left and right reference values. When a spectrogram is shown, then also copies the marker and offset marker's Trace Time position to the Trace Scale Top Trace and Height values.
- sets the Y-axis reference level to the amplitude at the marker.
- sets the Despread Channel (code and layer) parameters for 3G Cellular demodulation format measurements to the marker value (including W-CDMA Code Division Multiple Access: One of several digital wireless transmission methods in which signals are encoded using a specific pseudo-random sequence, or code, to define a communication channel. A receiver, knowing the code, can use it to decode the received signal in the presence of other signals in the channel. This is one of several "spread spectrum" techniques, which allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum by assigning each active user an unique code. CDMA offers improved spectral efficiency over analog transmission in that it allows for greater frequency reuse. Other characteristics of CDMA systems reduce dropped calls, increase battery life and offer more secure transmission. See also IS-95., cdma2000, TD-SCDMA and 1xEV-DO).
- sets the analysis timeslot and sub-frame for TD-SCDMA demodulation measurements to the marker value.
- sets the measurement center frequency to the current frequency counter reading.
- sets the VSA's center frequency to the center frequency calculated by the OBW marker.
Keyboard shortcuts exist for some of these functions if a trace marker is turned on. Right-click in a trace. The menu includes and .
