RS Rx. Quality (LTE-Advanced)

RS Rx. Quality, or RSRQ, is a measure of the quality of the received signal as defined in Section 5.1.3 of 3GPP TS Technical Specification 36.214 and is given by the following equation

RSRQ = N * RSRP / (E-UTRA Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Carrier RSSI Received signal strength indication)

where:

N = number of resource blocks over which RSRP and RSSI are calculated (the demodulator includes all resource blocks in the component carrier frame bandwidth)

RSRP is RS Rx. Power (Avg)

E-UTRA UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access: A W-CDMA standard developed ETSI, ARIB and the TIA. This system uses DSSS and either FDD or TDD depending on its frequency assignment and application. Carrier RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator)

RS Rx. Quality is calculated over all data in the Measurement Interval.
