Ref. Path Phase (LTE)

The Ref. Path Phase is the absolute phase of the reference signal in the captured data. The Sync Type determine which channel is used for this phase calculation.

This result can be used to compare the outputs of two phase-synchronized carriers, to determine their phase difference. The carriers can come from different channels of N7109 ComScan hardware, for instance. Such a phase difference calculation between carriers can come handy in measuring CoMP, where multiple eNodeB's are used to coordinate MIMO Multiple Input, Multiple Output: A physical layer (PHY) configuration in which both transmitter and receiver use multiple antennas. transmission to a UE User Equipment (e.g. cell phone).
