SS/PBCH Survey (5G NR/5G-Advanced)
There are two types of traces in the Trace > Data > Demod and MIMO Multiple Input, Multiple Output: A physical layer (PHY) configuration in which both transmitter and receiver use multiple antennas. menus that display component carrier data: CCn (component carrier is fixed), and Selected Display CC (component carrier is dynamically selected using the Display parameter). See About Per-Carrier Trace Types for more information.
If multiple SS/PBCHs are configured, only SS/PBCH0 results are displayed on the SS/PBCH Survey trace.
trace data presents the relative magnitude of the Physical Broadcast Channel's SS blocks for the component carrier.
When more than one carrier is defined in the Aggregation Table, "(CCn)" will appear in the title of this trace, where "n" is the number of the component carrier whose data is displayed in the trace. Select the desired component carrier number using the Configuration > Carriers > Display parameter.
If multiple input channels are present, the SS/PBCH Survey trace becomes a points trace where each vertical line represents a single SS/PBCH index, but each point on that line represents the relative magnitude of a different input channel (shown below).
Inactive SSBs are included in the trace rendering and appear as breaks in continuity to provide an accurate representation of indexes along the X axis.
The number of SS blocks shown in the trace is twice the Lmax or Active SS Block Indexes value because the index setting is per half frame and two half frames are displayed in the trace.
The relative phase can be shown instead of magnitude by changing the coordinate transform from Log Mag (dB) to Wrap Phase.
