Using Zero Span
Zero Span mode is not supported for Time Domain input mode.
To use the analyzer in zero span mode, switch to the Power Spectrum measurement and simply enter 0 GHz as the span. Then, instead of displaying power as a function of frequency, the instrument would display power as a function of time. The trace annotations change to be more appropriate for a time domain power vs time trace. The trace title is annotated to include “Zero Span”.
When in zero span, the window type choice is replaced with a channel filter shape choice. The available choices include:
- None - None just uses existing anti-alias resampling filters with no additional channel filter.
- Gaussian - The Gaussian filter used is close to an ideal Gaussian shape in the frequency domain.
Oversampling ratios when in zero span Gaussian filter are such as to try and ensure at least 85 dB dynamic range with the channel filter.
