This topic describes the Time metrics displayed in the Result Tables, Histograms, and Trend Lines.
-
Rise Time (sec)
-
The transition duration of a positive-going transition.
-
The transition duration is the difference between the two reference level instants of the same transition.
-
Unless otherwise specified, the two reference levels are the 10% and 90% reference levels.
-
Note the reported Rise Time (sec) result metric is directly affected by the user specified threshold property values Rise Time Lower (%) and Rise Time Upper (%) which default to 10% and 90% respectively.
-
-
Fall Time (sec)
-
Fall Time in seconds, reports the time interval for each individual detected pulse's falling edge amplitude level to transition from user specified threshold Fall Time Upper (%) level to Fall Time Lower (%) level.
-
The transition duration is the difference between the two reference level instants of the same transition.
-
Unless otherwise specified, the two reference levels are the 90% and 10% reference levels.
-
Note the reported Fall Time (sec) result metric is directly affected by the user specified threshold property values Fall Time Lower (%) and Fall Time Upper (%) which default to 10% and 90% respectively.
-
-
Rising Edge (sec)
-
The instant in absolute time that the pulse exceeds the Rise Time Lower threshold.
-
Rise Edge (s) result metric relative definition can be controlled by Time Values Are Relative To property selection located under Time tab. User selection choices are relative to either:
-
First Pulse
-
Report per pulse time values relative to first detected pulse start time (i.e. relative to reported Pulse 1 Rise Edge(s) within Region Table results).
-
-
Trigger
-
Report per region time values relative to acquisition trigger event time, as determined by user configured Input Trigger properties.
-
-
-
-
Falling Edge (sec)
-
Fall Edge in seconds, reports the relative timing each individual detected pulse's falling edge OFF amplitude sample threshold transition. (i.e. pulse OFF level transition point)
-
Note the pulse OFF amplitude threshold transition is determined from user specified Threshold Pulse Width (%) property value (default = 50%).
-
Fall Edge (s) result metric relative definition can be controlled by Time Values Are Relative To property selection located under Time tab. User selection choices are relative to either:
-
-
First Pulse
-
Report per pulse time values relative to first detected pulse start time (i.e. relative to reported Pulse 1 Rise Edge(s) within Region Table results).
-
-
Trigger
-
Report per region time values relative to acquisition trigger event time, as determined by user configured Input Trigger properties.
-
-
-
-
-
Width in seconds, reports the time interval difference between the detected pulse's rising edge Pulse Width (%) threshold level transition to the detected pulse's falling edge Pulse Width (%) threshold level transition.
-
Note the reported Width (sec) result metric is directly affected by the user specified Threshold Pulse Width (%) property value (default = 50%).
-
-
Duty Cycle (%)
-
Duty Cycle in %, reports the percentage ratio of measured pulse ON time to pulse OFF time . (i.e. Duty Cycle = [Width (sec) / PRI (sec)] * 100.0 %)
-
Note the reported Duty Cycle (%) result metric is directly affected by the user specified Threshold Pulse Width (%) property value (default = 50%).
-
-
PRF pseudo-random function (Hz) (Pulse Repetition Frequency)
-
PRF in Hz, reports the pulse repetition frequency. (i.e. PRF (Hz) = 1.0 / PRI (sec)).
-
Note the reported PRF (Hz) result metric is directly affected by the user specified Threshold Pulse Width (%) property value (default = 50%).
-
-
PRI (sec) (Pulse Repetition Interval)
-
PRI in seconds, reports the pulse repetition interval difference between the detected pulse's rising edge Pulse Width (%) threshold level transition to the subsequent detected pulse rising edge Pulse Width (%) threshold level transition.
-
Note the reported PRI (sec) result metric is directly affected by the user specified Threshold Pulse Width (%) property value (default = 50%).
-
The average PRI can be calculated in cases where the signal has a non-uniform or staggered PRI.
-
-
Off Time (sec) (Pulse Separation)
-
Off Time in seconds, reports the time interval difference between the detected pulse's falling edge Pulse Width (%) threshold level transition to the subsequent detected pulse rising edge Pulse Width (%) threshold level transition.
-
Note the reported Off Time (sec) result metric is directly affected by the user specified Threshold Pulse Width (%) property value (default = 50%).
