This topic describes the Modulation Decode metrics displayed in the Result Tables, Histograms, and Trend Lines.
When a modulated pulse is selected, the demodulation detection looks for BPSK Binary phase shift keying - A type of phase modulation using 2 distinct carrier phases to signal ones and zeros. modulation with uniform chips.
The Modulation Decode metrics displayed in the Result Tables, Histograms, and Trend Lines are:
- Modulation
- Displays the modulation type.
- Modulation Code
- Displays the modulation code number if the pattern is a valid modulation code, otherwise ***.
- Chip Count
- Displays the number of chips in the modulation pattern. If there is no modulated pattern detected, *** is displayed.
- Bits
- Displays the bit pattern detected (whether it is a valid Barker code or not), converted to hexadecimal. If there is no modulated pattern detected, *** is displayed.
- Chip Width (sec)
- Displays the average width of the chips in the BPSK pattern. If there is no modulated pattern detected, *** is displayed.
- Chip Offset (sec)
- Chip Offset displays the time offset of the detected modulation code center point, reported relative to the Pulse Top center time. If there is no modulated code detected, *** is displayed.
