Bit Rate (802.11a/g/j/p OFDM)

Bit Rate is the OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. data rate (Mbits/s) corresponding to the Code Rate and Modulation Format. The 802.11a/g/j/p OFDM Demodulation Format determines whether or not the Bit Rate data is displayed in the symbol table:

IEEE 802.11a/g/j/p Signals: The Bit Rate is determined from the RATE field data in the detected SIGNAL symbol.

HIPERLAN/2 Signals: Bit Rate is not available (N/A).
