Signals: File Import

This topic describes the Signal Optimizer's default Favorite Settings for importing a waveform file.

Signal Information

Sample Rate

Display the sample rate of the signal. This value is read-only and will be autotmaically calculated from symbol rate and over sampling rate.

Sample Points

Display the number of sample points in the waveform. This value is read-only and will be automatically updated with waveform setting change. Waveform length is directly related to the oversampling ratio value selected. (Increasing the oversampling ratio increases the total sample points.)

Signal Length

Display the waveform length in seconds. This value is read-only and will be automatically updated with waveform setting change.

Signal Setup

Import Settings

File Type

Sets the type of waveform file that will be imported.

For waveforms that are exported from an M8190A+PSG configuration with a center frequency above 20GHz, the PSG's IQ Invert feature is normally applied to the waveform. When importing the saved waveform into the Signal Optimizer software, the signal may be inverted again if the center frequency is above 20 GHz, creating an undesired signal with poor EVM. In this case, set IQ Conjugation to InvertQ to correct the inverted waveform.

BIN File Style

Defines the format of the BIN file (N5110A Waveform File type only).

Choices: IQ Interveaved | IQ Separated

Waveform File Name

Specifies the file containing signal waveform to be imported.

I Waveform File Name

Specifies the file containing signal waveform I data to be imported (N5110A Waveform File type only when BIN File Style is IQ Separated).

Q Waveform File Name

Specifies the file containing signal waveform Q data to be imported (N5110A Waveform File type only when BIN File Style is IQ Separated).

Vsa Setup File Name

Specifies the file containing vsa setup for the waveform to be imported.

Frequency Multiplier

This sets/gets a multiplier that will be used to scale the frequency specified in the file.

Amplitude Multiplier

This sets/gets a multiplier that will be used to scale the amplitude of the data in the file.

Sample Rate Settings

Sample Rate Mode

Select the sample rate mode to be used.
