Time Domain Delay Measurements

The time domain delay feature measures the propagation delay through the electrical length of a backplane.

How to Open the Time Domain Dialog

In the Time Domain differential or single-ended view, right-click in a time domain plot and select Measure -> Delay.

Delay Measurement dialog box help

Delay measurement ON - Checking this box enables a delay measurement.

Trace Settings

Measure delay of trace - Select this option then select the trace to measure.

Measure maximum delay of all traces - Select this option to measure the maximum delay between the fastest and slowest of all traces.

Measurement Reference

In the delay measurement, a marker is used to find the target amplitude.

Percentage of amplitude - The percentage of the displayed amplitude of the trace at which to position the marker to measure the delay. The default is 50%.

Voltage - The absolute voltage value to position the marker to measure the delay.

Delay Limit

Min/Max - Specify min/max values to use as the PASS/FAIL delay limits.
