Follow this procedure to export a wideband Arb waveform created with the N7621B software and to play it back independently of the N7621B software.
Configure the hardware for a wideband Arb.
Generate a waveform either with or without corrections and download it to the hardware.
Export the waveform.
From the File
menu, select Export Wideband Arb Data...
Navigate to the location where you want to save the file.
Enter a name for the file and click Save.
The waveform file will automatically be saved as the following 4 files:
<filename>Ch1.bin
<filename>Ch2.bin
<filename>Mkr1.bin
<filename>Mkr2.bin
You must be connected to hardware for the Export Wideband Arb Data... parameter to function. |
Save the signal generator settings.
From the File
menu, select Save As...
Navigate to the location where you want to save the file. (Consider saving it in the same location as the waveform file in step 3.)
Enter a name for the file and click Save.
On the wideband Arb, start the control utility.
Load the four *.bin files into the wideband arb using the control utility as shown in the figure below.
Match the software settings for the signal generator and wideband arb to the control utility settings for the signal generator and wideband arb.
The output voltage is listed differently in the N7621 software and the control utility. Make sure to account for this when you verify that the values match. The N7621 software lists the output voltage as a peak-to-peak value; the control utility lists the output voltage as a peak value. |
Shut down the N7621 software.
Now you can play the waveform directly on the wideband Arb.
