SCPI Command Differences (NA520xA)

This topic applies to NA520xA PNA-X Pro models only.

This topic describes differences between the SCPI commands for N52xxB models and NA520xA models. Refer to the tables below.

Path Configuration Commands

Existing path configuration commands are valid for NA520xA, but the paths are different. See Elements and Settings.

Pulse Commands

These existing pulse commands are valid for NA520xA, but accept n = [0..8] rather than n = [0..4]. The numeric values also have a resolution of 2 ns rather than 10 ns.

Existing N52xxB Pulse Commands Valid for NA520xA

Mnemonic

C/Q

Return Type

Description

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:DELay <value>[,<name>]

C&Q

Numeric

Sets the pulse delay. The amount of time before a new pulse begins.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:DINCrement <value>[,<name>]

C&Q

Numeric

Sets the pulse delay increment. The delay increments with each pulse by the <value> amount.

SENSe:PULSe<n>:HDELay:ADC?

Q

Numeric

Returns the ADC delay for pulse measurements.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:HDELay:MODulator <value>

C&Q

Numeric

Sets the time lag between the pulse drive signal and the actual RF output.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:HDELay[:STATe] <value>

C&Q

Boolean

Enables/disables modulator and ADC delays for pulse measurements.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:INVert <value>[,<name>]

C&Q

Boolean

Sets whether to invert the polarity of the pulse.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:MTIMing:DEVice <device>[,<name>]

C&Q

Character

Sets and reads the device being controlled by the pulse generator output.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe:PERiod <value>[,<name>]

C&Q

Numeric

Sets the pulse-period (1/PRF) for ALL pulse generators.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>[:STATe] <value>[,<name>]

C&Q

Boolean

Turns the pulse output ON and OFF.

SENSe<ch>:PULSe<n>:WIDTh <value>[,<name>]

C&Q

Numeric

Sets the pulse width. The amount of time that the pulse is ON.

Noise Figure Commands

Existing N52xxB Commands Valid for NA520xA

Mnemonic

C/Q

Return Type

Description

SENSe<ch>:NOISe:BWIDth[:RESolution] <num>

C&Q

Numeric

Sets noise bandwidth: 800 KHz, 2 MHz, 4 MHz, 8 MHz, or 24 MHz

For NA520xA, additional bandwidths 200kHz, 400kHz, 720kHz, 1MHz, 1.2MHz, 12MHz

SENSe<ch>:NOISe:GAIN <num>

C&Q

Numeric

Sets 0/15/30 dB gain

For NA520xA, additional -15 dB gain

SENSe<ch>:NOISe:RECeiver <char>

C&Q

Character

Sets the noise receiver (normal or dedicated noise)

For NA520xA, this feature is not available. Receivers are the same. If a user does not have noise hardware, they have a choice of -15dB or 0dB gain.
