Adapter Setup

The adapter setup is a process used to acquire the setup data of the adapter selected by the Adapter Selection. The adapter setup is normally performed when using the following accessories with the E4990A for the first time after it is delivered. The adapter setup should be performed again when the accessory is changed. Even if the different accessory with the same model number is placed, the adapter setup should be performed again in order to compensate the electrical length difference.

• Adapter setup should be performed at an ambient temperature as close as possible to the temperature in which the device measurement will actually be made.
  
  If the ambient temperature for your measurement is outside the range of ±5oC from the adapter setup temperature, it is recommended that you perform adapter setup again at the appropriate temperature.

It takes a few minutes to complete each setup data measurement.

• When you select “No Adapter” (NONE) in adapter selection, adapter setup cannot be performed.

Adapter setup data can be obtained and saved for each adapter selection.

Adapter setting (adapter selection and adapter setup data) is not affected by turning on/of the E4990A or by pressing the Preset to initialize the instrument settings. Press System > Meas Setup > Clear Adapter Setup to reset the adapter setup setting.
