4-Channel Phase-Controlled Outputs for Differential IQ Upconverter 

Step 1: Setup / Calibrate VXG

• Set up VXG as a 4 channel.

• Run source alignment wizard to calibrate the four VXG outputs at the ends of the cables using an oscilloscope.

  

Step 2: Connect VNA

• Connect VNA reference out to VXG reference in. 

• For IQ upconverter: 

  • Coonect the VXG source outputs to the DUT balanced I/Q inputs.

  • Connect the DUT RF output to VNA port 1.

  • Connect the DUT LO input to VNA port 3.

Step 3: Configure VNA

• Set up VXG as an external source.

  • Define VXG as a multi-channel source.

  • Enable output synchronization of VXG.

  • Disable the checkbox "Allow VNA to Preset Source (Recommended)"

• Enable DIQ application

  • Define the four VXG outputs as phase-controlled outputs

  • Define VNA port 1 as the measured input

  • Define VNA port 3 as a fixed frequency LO signal.

  • Calibrate port 1 and  port 3.
