Self Test progressively exercises and verifies operation of the hardware blocks in the test set.
Self Test starts by verifying the following hardware:
Power Supplies
Power Regulation
Digital Communication
After the Power Supplies, Power Regulation and Digital Communication hardware has been verified to be operating correctly a more detailed functional check of the hardware takes place.
Real Time Processor
Base Band Processor
Motherboard/Midplane
Upconverter/Step Attenuator 1
Upconverter/Step Attenuator 2 (if installed)
RFIO
Downconverter/Reference
Module RF path interconnects
Self Test provides a Pass of Fail result for the entire test. If Self Test returns a Pass the hardware has been verified to be in good working order. If Self Test returns a Fail a fault has been identified in one or more of the tests. The faulty hardware is not identified with Self Test.

If you are still experiencing problems with the test set after running Self Test verify the test set using the N7805A Calibration Software. |

Do not make any setting changes to the test set during Self Test operation. Sending SCPI over LAN commands to the test set or switching applications while Self Test is running will cause incorrect results for Self Test. Errors will be generated requiring you to close the E6601A Wireless Communication Test Set program and restart it. |
