This topic describes the settings of the MTC node.

UE Type

Coverage Enhancement Mode (CE Mode)

Valid Subframes

Number of Consecutive Absolute Subframes for Narrow Band (N_ch,UL_NB)

Narrowband Frequency Hopping Offset

UE Type

Sets UE Type.

This parameter is coupled to Number of Consecutive Absolute Subframes for Narrow Band, Coverage Enhancement Mode, Valid Subframes, Narrowband Frequency Hopping Offset, Data Reset, Number of HARQ Processes and Transmission Configuration Length.

For eMTC Uplink CC, this parameter is initially set to BL/CE as an exception.

Resource Allocation Type 3 is automatically set to off when UE Type is changed to BL/CE.

Coverage Enhancement Mode (CE Mode)

Sets Coverage Enhancement Mode (CE Mode).

This parameter appears only when UE Type is set to BL/CE.

This parameter is coupled to Number of Repetitions, Resource Indication Value, Length of Allocated Resource Blocks, RB_START, Allocated RB(s) within a Narrowband, Initial RV Index, RA Type and MCS Index.

Valid Subframes

Specify a set of valid subframes for BL/CE UE.

Value 0 in this bitmap indicates that corresponding subframe is invalid for transmission.

Value 1 in this bitmap indicates that corresponding subframe is valid for transmission.

This parameter appears only when UE Type is set to BL/CE.

A bit of Valid Subframes used for Absolute Subframe Number should be 1 when UE Type is set to BL/CE and PUSCH or PUCCH state is on. Otherwise, an error occurs during the generation.

Sets the number of consecutive absolute subframes for narrow band. This parameter appears only when UE Type is set to BL/CE.

Narrowband Frequency Hopping Offset

Sets the narrowband frequency offset between one narrowband and the next narrowband a PUSCH hops to, expressed as a number of uplink narrowbands.

This parameter is used only when PUSCH Frequency Hopping Flag is set to On.

This parameter appears only when UE Type is set to BL/CE.
