Fixed WiMAX

The following predefined configurations are based on IEEE 802.16a-03/01, Channel Models for Fixed Wireless Applications.

  • The firmware only supports these channel models for single or dual channel fading. The antenna correlation, ρ, is applied between the same numbered path on channel 1 and channel 2.

  • The standard tables for each channel model list the Rician K-factor as a rounded power ratio (linear) value and the converted dB value. The firmware, however, calculates the K-factor for Path 1 based on the overall K-factor as specified for each channel model and thus shows a non-rounded value. Since all of the overall K-factors are greater than zero, the firmware configures all Path 1 fading types as Rician whereas the standard tables may show Rayleigh with a rounded value of zero.

  • The tables do not include the normalization factor or the antenna gain reduction factor as these values apply to all paths, so there is no effect on the relative path attenuation.

  • Applying the same offset to all paths does not have any effect.
