The purpose of the system tests is to guarantee that the configured system's hardware components are connected and communicating properly. You can find the system test buttons in the tree view's Hardware leaf, as shown below:
Click the Run Self-Tests button to run the Self-Tests wizard. The
Self-Tests wizard will step you through a series of loopback tests to
verify and troubleshoot (if necessary) the system's data connections through
the N5101A PCI card and digital bus.
|
When running dual instances of the N5110B software, you cannot run simultaneous Self-Tests. Each Self-Test routine must finish before starting another Self-Test. |
Click the Test I/O Connections
button to run the I/O Connections wizard. The I/O Connections wizard runs
a series of tests to verify and troubleshoot (if
necessary) the system's I/O connections. For capture and digital playback,
the wizard tests the I/O signals through the N5101A PCI card and the digital
bus. For RF playback, the wizard tests the I/O signals for the N5101A
PCI card and the ESG/PSG's LAN or GPIB connection.
