1. General Setting

Channel Type

Display the channel type of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology packet.

Bluetooth low energy wireless technology uses both frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA). The 40 physical channels are pre-divided into advertising channels and data channels as per the FDMA scheme.

Packet Type

Choice: ADV_IND | ADV_DIRECT_IND | ADV_NONCONN_IND | SCAN_REQ | SCAN_RSP | CONNECT_REQ | ADV_SCAN_IND | LL_DATA | LL_CONNECTION_UPDATE_REQ | LL_CHANNEL_MAP_REQ | LL_TERMINATE_IND | LL_ENC_REQ | LL_ENC_RSP | LL_START_ENC_REQ | LL_START_ENC_RSP | LL_UNKNOWN_RSP | LL_FEATURE_REQ | LL_FEATURE_RSP | LL_PAUSE_ENC_REQ | LL_PAUSE_ENC_RSP | LL_VERSION_IND | LL_REJECT_IND | LL_SLAVE_FEATURE_REQ | LL_CONNECTION_PARAM_REQ | LL_CONNECTION_PARAM_RSP | LL_REJECT_IND_EXT | LL_PING_REQ | LL_PING_RSP | LL_LENGTH_REQ | LL_LENGTH_RSP | LL_PHY_REQ | LL_PHY_RSP | LL_PHY_UPDATE_REQ | Reference Packet

Default: Reference Packet

Set the packet type of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology.

The following Packet Type requires Option N7606B-U03 or N7606B-T: LL_SLAVE_FEATURE_REQ, LL_CONNECTION_PARAM_REQ, LL_CONNECTION_PARAM_RSP, LL_REJECT_IND_EXT, LL_PING_REQ, LL_PING_RSP, LL_LENGTH_REQ and LL_LENGTH_RSP.
The following Packet Type requires Option N7606B-T: LL_PHY_REQ, LL_PHY_RSP, LL_PHY_UPDATE_REQ.

Channel Index

Range: 0 to 39

Default: 0

Set the current channel index of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology packet.

Access Address

Range: 0x00000000 to 0xffffffff

Default: 8E89BED6

Set the logical link specify address of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology packet.

Every link layer connection has a 32-bit access address, allocated by the initiator of the link layer connection. The access address shall be different for each link layer connection created by the initiator and shall be randomly generated. The access address shall have no more than six consecutive zeros or ones. It shall not be the advertising packet sync word (’01101011011111011001000101110001’ from LSB to MSB) and shall not be any sequence of 32 bits that differs only in one bit from the sync word.

CRC Preload

Range: 0x000000 to 0xffffff

Default: 555555

Set the CRC preload state of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology packet.

The CRC shall be calculated over the PDU in all the advertising channel packets and in the data channel packets when the LL connection is operated in open mode. The CRC polynomial is 24-bit CRC and all bits in the PDU must be processed in transmitted order starting from the LSB. For every data channel packet the shift register shall be preset with the CRC initialization value set for the LL connection and communicated in CONNECT_REQ packet. For every advertising channel packet the shift register shall be preset with 0x555555.

Data Whitening

Choice: On | Off

Default: Off

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the whitening state of the PDU and CRC data of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology packet.

Data whitening is done to avoid long ’0 ... 0’ or ’1 ... 1’ sequences in data bit stream. Whitening is applied on the PDU and CRC fields of all packet types (advertising as well as data channel packets) and is done after error check calculation in the transmitter and before error check calculation in the receiver.

The whitener and de-whitener are defined the same way, using a 7 bit linear feedback shift register. Before scrambling the shift register is initialized with a sequence that is derived from the channel index (data channel index or advertising channel index) in which the packet is transmitted in the following manner .

Idle Interval

Range: 150 to 12500 microseconds

Range: 150 to 150000 microseconds (Requires MEU Option U03 or greater)

Default: 249 microseconds

Set the packet interval symbols of Bluetooth low energy wireless technology packet.

It is defined as the time from the end of the last bit of the previous packet to the start of the first bit of the subsequent packet.

Packet Length

Display the packet length in microseconds.

If symbol rate is 1 Ms/s, Packet Length = Preamble Length + Access Code Length + PDU Header Length + PDU Payload length + CRC Length

If symbol rate is 2 Ms/s, Packet Length = Preamble Length + Access Code Length + Cl Length + TERM1 Length + PDU Header Length + PDU Payload length + CRC Length + TERM2 Length
