1. Basic

Trial IDs

Displays the trial ID range included in the current Japan MIC radar profile.

Number of Trials

Range: 1 to 200

Default: 20

Couplings: Setting Number of Trials here has the same effect as setting Number of Trials in the corresponding row of the trial list setting table under DFS node.

Enter the number of trials.

Interval Between Trials

Default: 0.0 s

Range: 0.0 s ~ 600 s

Couplings: Setting Interval Between Trials here has the same effect as setting Interval Between Trials in the corresponding row of the trial list setting table under DFS node.

Set the interval time between trials.

Radar Type

Choices: W53 Fixed Pulse 1 | W53 Fixed Pulse 2 | W56 Fixed Pulse 1 | W56 Fixed Pulse 2 | W56 Fixed Pulse 3 | W56 Variable Pulse 4 | W56 Variable Pulse 5 | W56 Variable Pulse 6 | W56 Chirp | W56 Hopping

Default: W56 Fixed Pulse 1

Couplings: Setting Radar Type here has the same effect as setting Radar Type in the corresponding row of the trial list setting table under DFS node.

Select a radar type of Japan MIC radar profiles. Japan MIC has defined two sets of radar profiles for two operating bands respectively. One band is 5250-5350 MHz, denoted as W53, and the other band is 5470-5725 MHz, denoted as W56. For the detailed description of each type, refer to Japan MIC Radar Profiles.

If there are other Japan MIC radar profiles with fixed or variable radar types in the trial list setting table under DFS node, W56 Chirp and W56 Hopping cannot be selected and a message will be displayed on the status bar "Just fixed and variable pulse signals can be mixed. To configure hopping or chirp signal, please remove all the current signal".

If there are other Japan MIC radar profiles with W56 Chirp or W56 Hopping types in the trial list setting table under DFS node, other radar types cannot be selected and a message will be displayed on the status bar "Just fixed and variable signals can be mixed. To configure other signals, please remove all the current W56 Chirp/W56 Hopping signals firstly".

Channel Bandwidth

Range: 1 MHz to Maximum channel bandwidth supported by the connected instrument

Default: Maximum channel bandwidth supported by the connected instrument

Couplings: This cell is only visible when the Radar Type is set to W56 Hopping.

Enter the channel bandwidth the RLAN device operating on.For W56 frequency hopping signals, only the frequency hopping points within the frequency band (formed by center frequency and channel bandwidth) will be actually transmitted by the instrument. Refer to Simulated Frequency Hopping Generation for more details.

2. Signal Configuration

Pulse Width

Displays the pulse width. If the pulse width of the selected radar type is a range instead of a fixed value, another three parameters will be displayed under this cell, step, min, and max.

Step

Displays the resolution of random value selection.

Min

Displays the lower limit of the range.

Max

Displays the upper limit of the range.

Pulse Repetition Frequency

Displays the Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF). If the PRF of the selected radar type is a range instead of a fixed value, another three parameters will be displayed under this cell, step, min, and max.

Step

Displays the resolution of random value selection.

Min

Displays the lower limit of the range.

Max

Displays the upper limit of the range.

Number of Continuous Pulses

Displays the number of pulses in a burst. If the number is a range instead of a fixed value, another three parameters will be displayed under this cell, step, min, and max.

Step

Displays the resolution of random value selection.

Min

Displays the lower limit of the range.

Max

Displays the upper limit of the range.

Repetition Cycle

Displays the repetition cycle of the radar waveform.

Number of Bursts

This cell is only visible when Radar Type is set to W56 Chirp or W56 Hopping and it displays the number of burst in the radar signal.

Chirp Width

This cell is only visible when Radar Type is set to W56 Chirp and it displays the bandwidth of the chirp radar signal. As it is a range as defined in the standard, there are three other parameters under it, step, min, and max.

Step

Displays the resolution of random value selection.

Min

Displays the lower limit of the range.

Max

Displays the upper limit of the range.

Frequency Hopping Range

This cell is only visible when Radar Type is set to W56 Hopping. It displays the frequency band of the frequency hopping. As the frequency band is a range, there are three other parameters under it, step, min, and max.

Step

Displays the resolution of random value selection.

Min

Displays the lower limit of the range.

Max

Displays the upper limit of the range.
