Create 802.15.4g MR-FSK Waveforms

This procedure will give you an example of generating a packet of MR-FSK signal.

The sample MR-FSK signal parameters are defined in the table below.

  1. Open the software. The system configuration wizard appears.

  2. Configure the hardware system.

    1. Select New hardware configuration and highlight your instrument. Click OK.


    2. Highlight MXG/EXG/ESG/PSG Signal Generator and click Next.


    3. Highlight New and click Next.


    4. Enter the IP address of your signal generator and click Next.


    5. Verify the hardware connection and click Next.
    6. Enter the name of the hardware system and click Finish.

  3. Click Hardware in the tree view and check your signal generator has installed the license for N7610B Signal Studio for 802.15.4g.

  4. Click Instrument in the tree view and configure the instrument parameters, such as frequency and amplitude.

  5. Click Waveform Setup in the tree view and select MR-FSK format.

  6. Click MR-FSK in the tree view and configure the waveform parameters.

  7. Click the Generate button.

  8. Click the Download button to download the waveform to your instrument. Or you can export the waveform as following steps.

  9. Under the File menu, select Export Waveform Data.

  10. Name the waveform file and save it to your PC.

  11. Copy the waveform file to a portable USB storage device.

    This would be a good time to also save a backup copy of the waveform file.

  12. Insert the USB storage device into a USB port on the controlling PC and copy the waveform file to the proper directory, as described in the instrument's documentation.
