.AF Method A is used for lists up to 25 in number and AF method B is used for larger lists.
AF Method B is used where the number of AFs used by a transmitter and its associated repeater stations exceed 25, or where it's required to indicate frequencies which belong to different regions which at times carry different programmes.
Radio frequencies are between 3 and 30 MHz. Also known as the decameter band or decameter wave as the wavelengths range from one to ten decameters.
Radio frequencies (RF) in the range of 300 kHz to 3000 kHz. Part of this band is the medium wave (MW) AM broadcast band. The MF band is also known as the hectometer band or hectometer wave as the wavelengths range from ten to one hectometers (1,000 to 100 m).
Radio Frequencies (RF) in the range of 30 kHz to 300 kHz. In Europe, and parts of Northern Africa and of Asia, part of the LF spectrum is used for AM broadcast service.
The list of alternative frequencies gives information on the various transmitters broadcasting the same program in the same or adjacent reception areas. This facility is particularly useful in the case of car and portable radios.
When the PI code indicates local coverage-area, i.e. only one frequency is used, AF list may contain this frequency.
Updated alternative frequency list in Method B.
The number of AF lists within a network is in general identical to the number of transmitters and repeater stations in the network, so that a unique list for each transmitting station can be provided.
If the number of AFs of a station is larger than 12, the list should be split into two or more lists.
Range (MHz): 87.6 to 107.9
