Common Interleaved Frame

The MSC is made up of Common Interleaved Frames (CIFs), which is the serial digital output from the main service multiplexer, contained in the Main Service Channel part of the transmission frame.

CIF is common to all transmission modes and contains 55 296 bits, for example 864 CUs.

In the tree view, click on Ensemble, and a CIF Structure Figure will appear below the Ensemble parameter table.

If more service components are needed, there are two methods to create a new service component.

Method 1: Click on Service Components in the tree view, and in the configuration box below, click on , and select Add a new service component

Method 1 creates or deletes service components that haven't associated with certain service yet. Notice that the CIF structure won't change after adding a new service component following the method 1, since the service component hasn't been allocated to any service yet.

Method 2: Click on Services 0 in the tree view, and in the configuration box below, click on , and select Add a new service component

A Service Component 1 will be created as follows, also you can delete them using the button.

CIF structure will change as follows:

There is a Service Component 1 allocated in the CIF structure.

With method 2, you have to be clear which service to edit before adding or deleting any service components.
